Scattered Thoughts

My best friends are in Hawaii, Thailand, and Kenya. And what am I doing? Well, I'm taking my little cousin out to go to a theme park! Way besides the point though.

God brought me these girls, and we all happen to be in the same major and we all happen to have a love for people with special needs and Jesus. (Nothing better![:)

Okay, so with them being gone, it's hard and I know the next twenty-five days until we are reunited are going to be very difficult and challenging. It's not hard in the summer because I have multiple distractions and things to do, no internet and no phone.

But now, I have very few distractions and too much internet and phone. When I'm at school, I have the perfect amount of homework to work to other things ratio. But when I'm at home, I feel like a lazy bum, which, for me, I need because I don't enjoy resting, I'm usually up early and trying to get things done as fast and efficiently as possible.

So, what do I think I'm supposed to learn during this period of time away from them?

God is in control. His plans, mine don't stand. He has ultimate control of everything. I need to slow down and rest (Isaiah 40:28-31), and I need to realize that He's in charge (Proverbs 16:9) and that I am less.

It's been difficult the past two weeks knowing that they are not in my room, down the hallway, downstairs, eating a meal with me or any of the above.

But, God is good and faithful and I know He is bringing me a faithful time to follow Him and try to limit myself from distractions.

Happy Thursday!
